As you know we have achieved a demand the Union has been attempting to negotiate and arbitrate for almost 2 decades.  Canada Post has now been forced to provide 1,000 carts to Letter Carriers upon request.  The carts must be provided even if the employee does not have a doctor’s note.

Pilot Project

The parties have now appointed their leads.  The Union has appointed Brother Terry MacDonald from the Ottawa Local.  The Union has attended an international conference which provided us with a lot of information. This information will enable the parties to consider many different types of carts to be tested.   Some pictures of carts are reproduced below.

The union also obtained information concerning electric scooters and hybrid vehicles as well as bicycles.
