The Ad-hoc Coalition for Women’s Equality and Human Rights came together in 2007 to fight the actions
against womens’ rights taken by the Government of Canada, specifically the:
Cancellation of the child care agreements with the Provinces;
Refusal to take action on Federal Pay Equity Legislation;
Cancellation of the Court Challenges Program; and
Changes to Status of Women Canada.
CUPW has been working with this coalition for over a year. CUPW will continue work with coalitions pushing
for a country free of barriers for all people and communities.
