Community Connections Child Care CentreChild care you deserve

High quality. Flexible. Affordable. That's the kind of care postal workers say they need – but can't find. CUPW and RSMC families in Rocky Mountain House can now access the child care they need and deserve, thanks to an innovative child care project.

That means having peace of mind while you're at work. And that means a lot.

Quality

Community Connections Child Care Centre is a community-based and designed project. All of its programs conform to Alberta' s child care regulations.

Its stated philosophy is to provide:

• Nurturing, caring and safe environments for all children

• Programs where children learn through play and exploration

• Learning in all areas of development (social, emotional, intellectual and physical)

• Nutritional meals and snacks

• An open door policy with parents and staff

All children need love, respect and encouragement in order to develop to their full potential. The early years are the foundation for learning and development.

The partnership between parents and staff allows us to ensure Community Connections Child Care Centre is a place where children feel confident to explore and learn.

Flexibility

Community Connections Child Care Centre offers centre-based child care programs for children from birth to 12 years old.

Highly qualified staff help children develop a positive self concept through age appropriate activities designed to meet each child's need. Children are cared for and learn in a safe and nurturing environment.

The centre is open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 5 days a week.

It gives postal workers access to the following programs:

• Infants 0-18 months

• Toddlers 18 months–3 years

• Preschool 3–5 years

• Before and After School Care

Affordability

High quality child care is expensive. The Child Care Fund subsidizes the cost for services provided by Community Child Care Connections that are available to postal workers.

Subsidies are 55% of parent fee for members.

(Note the subsidy is taxable)

Community Connections Child Care Centre is one of our union's child care fund projects that is helping postal workers who have a hard time finding and affording quality child care.

Special Needs

CUPW-RSMC members also have a project that provides financial assistance and information resources for members who have children with special needs, or adult sons and daughters with disabilities.

Call the Special Needs office at 1-800-840-5465 toll free to find out more about this project and how you qualify.
