Manulife and Canada Post: What you need to know

CUPW is very concerned about some of the tactics that Canada Post and its representative, Manulife, are attempting to use concerning the Attendance Management Program. All members should be cautious about these practices.

Members must exercise caution when considering signing the Manulife Authorization Form and the Attending Physicians Statement. Please check out all available options before signing. Members who wish to use the alternative authorization form provided by the union should contact their local union executive and/or shop steward for assistance.

As a measure of precaution, this section of our national web site will centralize all of the relevant information concerning Manulife and Canada Post. We have included template letters, forms for members and all of the latest union information updates below.

These include freedom of information requests, a checklist, a template letter to send to Manulife voicing your concerns and most importantly, a form to fill out and give to your doctor. You should ask your doctor to attach this letter to the front of your medical files. Personnel working in the doctors’ offices must also be made aware that your medical information is not to be released should Manulife or Canada Post contact them directly.
