“Canada Post is the second most dangerous place to work in the federal sector,” said Gayle Bossenberry,
1st vice President of the CUPW, “and now Manulife is aggressively harassing sick and injured
workers to get them back to dangerous work before they fully recover.”
“They’re sending us back to work quicker and sicker to improve their bottom line,” said Jane Marsh,
President of the CUPW Toronto local. “They contact our doctors without permission to collect private medical
information. They call us at home while we’re still sick or injured and they’ve even tried to get us to sign
away our rights to medical privacy.”
“We’ll talk to Manulife shareholders while they’re healthy and at work because we think calling them at
their homes would be an inappropriate violation of their privacy,” said Marsh.
