As per appendix D 2(b) of the urban collective agreement, the NEB has agreed to have rural and urban
deliver the IKEA catalogues in July again this year.
The memorandums of agreements were sent to every local president on June 9, 2008, along with a covering
letter.
Below is a listing of the highlights of the agreements:
- RSMC and Urban:
- Size / dimension: 8” x 9.5” inches or 20.40 cm x 24.13 cm (approx);
- Weight: Estimated at 485 grams;
- Delivery start date will be the week of July 28, 2008 (July 30th);
- This Memorandum of Agreement will be posted in all information notice books;
- This mailing is to be scheduled for discussion at regular local consultations, where applicable, prior to
July 2008;
- 5 minute mini meeting shall be held in applicable delivery facilities to review the delivery requirements
and health & safety matters regarding this mailing;
- RSMC only
- Although the standard delivery span for Unaddressed Admail is one (1) day for RSMC, local management
shall allow up to 7 days to complete delivery;
- The delivery of this mailing may require RSMC’s to work additional hours to complete their routes and
therefore the requirements of clause 13.04 are applicable.
- Urban only
- Delivery window: 14 days;
- Compensation: $0.07 per catalogue;
- Special drops, upon request of the employee, will be determined as per current practice;
- If item does not fit the mail receptacles in walk-through apartments, they can be left on the floor in
front of the customers’ door;
- Canada Post acknowledges its obligation to respect and adhere to the collective agreement and
specifically recognizes that management must adhere to clause 33.13, (Health & Safety) Appendix K-1 (L/C
Carts) and LL (15.08) in preparing and during the delivery of this mailing;
- Where there are motorized routes and in order to avoid congestion, explore the use of having motorized
routes perform dispatches of this mailing to mailrooms the day in advance of the start of delivery;
- The parties recognize that the delivery of unaddressed admail may cause letter carriers to work extended
hours and/or overtime in order to complete their duties.
CPC will only respect this MOA and our contractual rights if we force them too.
