Our UPCE brothers and sisters are showing unyielding determination and courage on their picket lines. They
deserve our admiration and support! They are refusing to accept the rollbacks that Canada Post wants to
impose and they’re right to stand firm!
It’s important to remember that they are also fighting for us: no one wants this so-called sick
leave plan controlled by Manulife.
During these difficult times, we need more than ever to show our solidarity through action. This is when
the true significance of the word “workers” becomes important. We are workers; we are part of the working
class. And we need to stand even more firmly together to protect our wages and working conditions.
That’s why we need to join the picket lines, organize support activities, alert the media and the public.
We need to make everyone aware that this strike was provoked by Canada Post and Moya Greene in an attempt to
impose their anti-union ideology.
