It is true that active members are key to dealing with the employer. In fact, a mobilized and organized membership can make the difference between successful or failed negotiations. But mobilizing can also be used to enforce and improve our rights when we're not negotiating . This is particularly true when dealing with health and safety issues. Over the years, workers' rights have not been won by chance. Hard-fought struggles and mobilizing were instrumental in improving the well-being of thousands of workers.
