September 6th was the innovations forum which CUPW co–sponsored. Sister Bue and Brother Bickerton
made presentations. Brother Gillies assisted in the organization of the conference. There were
very informative discussions about voting by mail, remittances, hybrid mail, last mile delivery options and
much more.
The conference included discussions on the fight against privatization and deregulation, remittances,
organizing, post office and HIV/AIDS and the state of post offices and postal unions
internationally.
Resolutions were passed supporting CUPW’s struggle for the right to free collective bargaining, opposing
the use of lie detector tests for workers at DHL in Colombia and supporting a campaign for increased use of
post offices to provide remittances.
