New Regional Officers and Union Representatives

Delegates to three of the eight Regional Conferences held last month elected individuals to vacant officer and/or union representative positions, in addition to dealing with resolutions for the urban operations collective agreement negotiations.

Atlantic

Brother Jim Gallant, Regional Union Representative, was elected to the Regional Grievance Officer’s position and brother Robert Garnier, St. John’s Local, was elected to the Regional Union Representative position vacated by Brother Gallant.

Québec

Prior to the Regional Conferences, Brother François Senneville of the Quebec City Local was acclaimed to a vacant Union Representative position in the Quebec Regional Office.

Metro-Montréal

Brother Jacques Valiquette, Regional Education and Organization Officer (REOO), had previously been acclaimed to the position of National Director. At the conference, delegates elected brother Yannick Scott to the REOO position.

Central

Sister Lori Karas, Peterborough Local and Alternate Union Representative, was elected to a vacant Union Representative position.

Prairie

Prior to the Regional Conferences, brother Todd Jarema, Winnipeg Local and Alternate Union Representative, had been acclaimed to a vacant Union Representative position in the Prairie Regional Office.

We wish all those mentioned above success in their new roles in the Union. We are confident the membership will be well served by these committed trade unionists.
