Canadian friends of Burma

Canadian Friends of Burma is a national non-governmental organization founded in 1991. CFOB supports the Burma pro-democracy movement in the struggle for peace, democracy, human rights and equality in Burma. Our primary objectives are to raise awareness about the political, human rights and socio-economic situation in Burma and how it pertains to Canadians; to encourage Canadians to take action and to get involved.

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) is taking new steps to foster a greater understanding within the trade union movement on the island of Ireland about the causes and effects of global poverty and inequality. We want to find more effective ways of taking action. We believe it is essential to deepen global solidarity between trade union members in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland with trade unions in developing countries. Maquiladora Health and Safety Support Network

The "Maquiladora Health & Safety Support Network" is a volunteer network of over 400 occupational health and safety professionals who have placed their names on a resource list to provide information, technical assistance and on-site instruction regarding workplace hazards in the 3,000 "maquiladora" (foreign-owned assembly) plants along the U.S.-Mexico border. Network members, including industrial hygienists, occupational physicians and nurses, and health educators among others, are donating their time and expertise to create safer and healthier working conditions for the one million maquiladora workers employed by primarily U.S.-owned transnational corporations along Mexico's northern border from Matamoros to Tijuana.

Canada Colombia Solidarity Campaign
