Web Site Help

What is a "PDF" and how do I read it?

PDF is a file format that combines graphics, text, sound, video and hypertext into a portable, compressed document. Many of the publications available from Canada Post (such as the CUPW/CPC Collective Agreement) are produced in PDF format, as opposed to a word processing document such as MS Word or WordPerfect. CUPW also creates PDFs, such as a report to our NEB, when a document is too large to display on a web site.

You will need Acrobat Reader to view PDF files. Acrobat Reader is available for MANY different operating systems and you can get it for FREE from http://www.adobe.com/. Install the appropriate version for your computer (preferably with the search component) according to the instructions on the Adobe web site. Acrobat Reader will not allow you to create PDFs, but you can view, save, and print PDFs.
