The National Women’s Committee studies and makes recommendations to the National Executive Board on ways to:

  • Get more women participating in all levels of the Union
  • Educate members about equality issues facing women
  • Improve the situation of women in the workplace

Representatives to The National Women’s Committee are elected by regional caucuses of women delegates at the National Convention. Two alternates from each Region are also elected. The Committee also includes all women who hold national or regional executive and union representative positions.

The National Women’s Committee may select up to four more members in order to achieve diversity and representation.

The Committee meets twice a year.

The committee's recommendations and the National Executive Board's responses are reported to each National Convention.
