On or about February 18, 2016, CUPW was informed that the Canada Post Corporation has been failing to abide by its obligation under Article 12 of the collective agreement by having a higher number of part-time positions than allowed in the wicket/counter sections of urban offices. This constitutes a violation of the collective agreement, which is prejudicial to the Union and the employees.

Corrective Steps Requested

The Union requests a statement to the effect that the Corporation has violated the collective agreement. The Union also requests that the Corporation be ordered to fill positions in accordance with the collective agreement. Moreover, the Union requests that the Corporation be ordered to pay damages with interest to the Union and the employees covered by the grievance. The Union reserves the right to request any other corrective action it deems appropriate under the circumstances.
