CUPW Policy D-13: Day Care And Profit

The Union understands that for-profit child care results in a substantial deterioration of child care quality and will work with the labour movement and other organizations to bar the establishment of for-profit child care centres in all Canadian provinces of Canada.

It is this policy objective that underlies our child care advocacy work and who it is we work with. One of our key coalition partners is the Child Care Advocacy Association Canada (CCAAC). The CCAAC is dedicated to promoting a publicly funded, inclusive, quality public/non-profit child care system. CUPW and the CCAAC have worked closely together on many campaigns over the past four decades to win a national child care program.
