Our union’s redeveloped website is live now at www.cupw.ca – maybe you’ve noticed!

The new visual design of the site is dramatically different, but it’s much more than a facelift: There’s new information architecture, new interactive features, better responsiveness for your mobile and differently-sized devices and browsers, better accessibility, and an all-new code base on an open-source platform.

The way we use the new site is founded on a faceted search/navigation system: The new search tool uses keywords, and also faceted search, enabled by content tagging. You may search in different ways than on the old site, but the results will be faster and more in keeping with what you expect from current websites.

While the site is live and functioning, the development process continues. As the weeks go by, more content will be migrated to the new site, and technical improvements are still being rolled out.

So your feedback is important: we’ll prioritize improvements in part based on user experience, trouble reports, and specific requests for content—which can be submitted via a form on the site. You’ll see a link at the bottom of the page. So let us know what you think about the new site—its look, its functionality, and its content.
